Union Pacific railroad’s water tower in the background was a part of the downtown skyline from the 50s-80s. The exact location of the water tower is today’s Symphony Park.

Bonanza Lodge Motel, 1808 Fremont St, photographed in 2009 by Steve Sobczuk. In 2014 the motel was merged with neighboring Purple Sage Motel and converted into Sterling Gardens.

Founded in ‘46, Nevada Armored Transport Inc. was the first Las Vegas-based armored service, originally headquartered downtown at 422 Fremont St. The company dissolved in ‘84, but lived on for the last eleven years as the inspiration of the armored transport-themed page on Facebook, Felix Lenox’s Nevada Armored Transport Inc.
